Awesome day out! I thoroughly recommend this day trip for anyone who is visiting Darwin for a short stay. The seaplane trip with amazing views over Darwin, the harbour and hinterland, airboat ride through swamps, & crocodile infested waters, Otis the 6m croc popping up beside the boat to say gidday! A breathtaking ride in a helicopter landing amongst a fields of termite nests and the friendliest crew you could ever ask for who made our day so enjoyable. Thanks OFPAT you deliver what you advertise.
The day spent with the Outback Floatplane Tour is without doubt the greatest constantly enjoyable adventure I have ever had. Seaplanes, a cruise on a picturesque Billabong while dining on fresh Barramundi steaks, croc's up close from an air boat and a sensational helicopter experience. This is a trip not to be missed.
This was the experience of a lifetime, the crew were fantastic and super welcoming and helpful from the moment we were picked up till the moment we were dropped back at our hotel. I will definitely be back for more with Outback Floatplane Tours!
From the pickup at our accommodation to drop off at the end, the whole experience was top class. The staff were knowledgable, professional and friendly. The tour itself particularly the airboat and helicopter ride was exciting and fun. The tour doesn't drag on and the end leaves you wanting more. Will definitely be returning and is great value for money in comparison to some other tours we have been on.
What a great day! The wet start to the morning cleared away to a brilliantly fine cool morning on Sweets Lagoon. Thanks Emma for the superb flight and landings. The team cooked us a lovely breakfast while we cruised the lagoon and had a spot of fishing (no million $ barra though). After the cruise we went on the airboat with Jock who gave “comical analogies” of male vs female in the wild (much to the amusement and encouragement of the male gender on the boat). He was a great snake charmer, eagle whistler, and croc enticer, enabling us to get up close and personal with Bonecrusher. Afterwards we enjoyed a thrilling fast ride in the airboat. Next up was the helicopter flight that gave us a great view of where we had been - another thrilling ride. Can't forget Bonnie - thanks for being such an awesome hostess. Real value for money. We will definitely recommend Outback Floatplane Adventures to our friends. Local or visitor, this is a must do in the Topend.
It was hard to concentrate on the crocs on the banks and swimming around the boat with Rosy, an egret, in the captains seat, King Fishers swooping past, Sea Eagles watching from overhead branches and diving for fish, kites trying to steal their prey and the magnificent surrounding lagoon flora. The combination of the best the territory has to offer, presented by highly capable and friendly staff who obviously love their jobs and want to share this with visitors, made it one of the best trips I have had in 50 yrs of traveling the globe.
One of the best adventure tours we've ever taken! A must do for Darwin! We still talk about it with our friends!! Love to see Rose (Egret) on the boat and Matt's head/hat...brings back memories! Bone Crusher is still intimidating...cannot believe the airboat guys 'play' with him! Yikes! No words can describe this trip...you need to just go and see for yourself! Soooo much fun!!! Loved it!!! We had a wonderful time with Dallas, Emma, Matt, Lee and Glen. Their professionalism and passion for what they do was the icing on the cake for this exciting day. They were well organised and worked well as a team. We have spent time in Darwin before but we have never experienced the variety of activities in such a clever mix before - seaplane flight, aiiirboat spotting crocs/ wildlife (as well as hooning around), fishing, and a helicopter flight. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this for all. Visited September 2015
We felt really welcome as soon as we jumped on the bus to head to the floatplane. The flight with Emma showed us some of the landscape around Darwin. We then hopped aboard the pontoon to be greeted by the lovely Lee and had a cruise down the billabong and enjoyed a beautiful barramundi lunch. Next came the airboat ride with Matt to spot crocs and bird life. Awesome. Next Glen took us up in the helicopter. I am usually scared of heights but felt very safe in Glen's care. We finished with another airboat ride and then back to Darwin on the floatplane. Thanks for a spectacular day. Recommend it to everyone holidaying in Darwin. Visited September 2015
awesome crew unforgettable action packed experience whatchout you'll get muddy spinning on hovercraft nice crocs baramundi unreal
Where do I start? This was just one of the best things we have ever done. The staff were fabulous, the morning just got better and better and I cannot rate it highly enough. The scenery was amazing, the wildlife fantastic, it was just a brilliant experience. It seems expensive at first sight, but after the floatplane from the airport, the pontoon cruise while breakfast is being made, the airboat 'lunacy' ride, the helicopter flight, the second airboat ride to look for the wildlife then the return floatplane ride to the airport, you realise just how the costs mount up. The breakfast was amazing too! The staff were fun, welcoming and informative and the sea eagle and kingfisher came for their fish on cue. Unbelievable. Not to mention Rose the egret who was an unofficial member of the team! If you have 6 hours free in Darwin, do not miss this!!! Visited September 2015
This activity proved to be the highlight of our trip to Darwin. The young crew did a terrific job of putting us through our paces and each segment was truly enjoyable. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun time and a great memory. The owner's vision is to be congratulated since putting this together could not have been easy or inexpensive. His or her implementation is impressive and staff is top notch. Each person on the team did an excellent job. The boat captain/airboat captain, the helicopter pilot, the floatplane pilot and the hostess were exceptional. Even the in town shuttle driver put a great face on this small company. They were professional, engaging and fun. I am sure we all look fungible to them, but they nevertheless managed to make this work for each guest. Prepare for a day of interesting sights, new experiences and some thrills. If you don't enjoy the time spent, I would be amazed. The option of swimming in the croc safe pool is not really worth doing, but everything else is tough to beat. The website does a good job of explaining the elements. Floatplane from airport takes a half hour to fly to the river base of operations, where the mother boat (with shade and a bathroom) is docked, along with the airboat and the helicopter. All activities launch from and return here. I would love to come back and do this again with more friends and family. Perhaps a second mortgage will pay for this and the Tesla Model S.
WOW what a day. This was a real buzz. We were picked up at the hotel & driven to the airport for a float plane ride to land on a lagoon. Fantastic landing, we then transferred to a flat bottom boat for a cruise up the river while enjoying a buffet breakfast. Back the pontoon for an air-boat ride, just like the everglades, fabulous! On our return helicopters were waiting for us. Strapped in & off we went, a more skillful pilot I have not come across. Then back into the air-boat to do wheelies in a muddy lagoon Fabulous staff & operators, my congratulations to the owners Highly recommended, one of the best days of my life Visited September 2015
This tour was by far the best of our holiday. I could not fault any part of it. The rides on the airboat were something to experience, left me wanting more. I am 69 and would recommend this whole experience for any age. It has been quite a while since I actually could say " Wow that was such fun" and that was exactly what I said when it was all finished. The lunch was excellent with tea, coffee, juice, cordial and water offered all day. Thank you to all the crew for giving me such a great time. Visited September 2015
Everything was perfect - just 'paradise'! Bit expensive but worth every cent... The airboat was magic!!! It was a great suprise to meet Matt Wright there and watch him to 'call' the crocodile out of water. Unbelievable!
This was the most incredible experience! I loved absolutely every single second of it and would recommend it to anybody. Worth every single cent, a total once-in-a-lifetime experience but would gladly do it all over again! Visited August 2015
